Reasons to Visit New Mexico On a Vacation

From historical attractions to natural facilities, New Mexico, also known as the Land of Enchantment, has a lot to offer to the travelers. When you head there on your vacation, you can find experiences that you won’t find elsewhere in the world. While you are planning to book vacation rentals in Taos, New Mexico, or any other location, do realize that summers are usually scorching throughout the area, while winter becomes unbearable only in the state's northern location and places that are at high elevations. With that being said, here is a list of some good reasons you might not want to miss a trip to this amazing location.

Archaeology
In New Mexico, you can find several carved images at Petroglyph National Monument that are 700 years old. Near the Chaco Culture National Historical Park, you will find highly preserved remains of an urban center that thrived from 850 AD to 1250 AD.

Museums
In Santa Fe, which is also the capital, you can find the Museum of International Folk Art. It is home to a collection of the world's largest folk art. Albuquerque Museum of Art and History has a collection of more than 7000 works that represent the culture of Southwest America.

Outdoor Recreation
Albuquerque hosts the International Balloon Fiesta during the month of October, where more than 700 hot air balloons are flown. The Land of Enchantment is also a major destination for mountain biking. There are at least five resorts sitting within an hour of the city.
